The short version

Helios uses information only to provide, personalize, secure, and support the companion you ask for. It has no advertising SDK, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not sell personal information.

Who is responsible

The provider of Helios is the developer identified on Helios’s App Store listing. For privacy questions or requests, contact grao@heliosmobile.app.

What stays on this phone

Daily mood, energy, sleep, and pain check-ins; family phone numbers; game history; notification choices; and some profile and consent settings are stored on your device. This local information normally leaves with the app when you delete it, except information preserved in an encrypted device backup under your Apple settings.

Account and profile information

If you sign in with Apple or Google, Helios receives an account identifier and may receive your name and email address. Your Helios profile can include your interests, preferred name, medicine routine, city or region, precise coordinates when you choose location, symptom journal, appointments, medication and dose records, subscription status, and the identifier of a private voice copy. Account information is linked to you so it can follow you to another device.

Conversations and memory

Your recent conversation text and relevant profile or wellbeing context are sent through the Helios server to an artificial-intelligence service to produce a reply. A memory service may keep short facts distilled from conversations — such as an interest or family name — so future replies can feel familiar. Helios does not store full conversation transcripts in its own database. When signed out, a random per-install identifier keeps one device’s memories separate from another’s; it is not an Apple advertising identifier.

Speech and voice copies

When you choose to speak, audio is sent to a speech service to turn it into text, and reply text is sent to create spoken audio. The Helios server does not save ordinary conversation recordings. If you knowingly create or upload a voice copy, the sample is sent to the voice provider, which creates and hosts a private voice model; Helios stores its identifier and your consent record. The temporary sample file is removed from the phone after it is read.

Health and fitness information

If you connect Apple Health, Helios asks separately for each supported type: steps, sleep, heart rate, walking steadiness and speed, heart-rate variability, blood pressure, blood oxygen, body weight, and, on supported systems, medications you select. Helios reads only types you allow and never writes to Apple Health. Signed-in accounts may store daily step and sleep totals. Other selected health readings and your check-in summaries are sent transiently to the artificial-intelligence service alongside your conversations with Helios — so it can answer questions about how you have been whenever you ask — and when you request a wellbeing reflection, graph summary, or report. Health and fitness information is never used for advertising or marketing.

Location and calendar

Location is requested only when you ask for local weather. Coordinates are sent to the relevant service and may be saved in your signed-in profile until you replace or delete them. Calendar access is requested only when you choose to import or create a health appointment. Calendar data stays in Apple Calendar unless you choose an appointment for Helios, in which case that appointment may sync to your account.

Service providers

Helios uses Apple for distribution, subscriptions, Apple Health, Apple Weather, and Sign in with Apple; Google for optional sign-in; Supabase for authentication and account storage; Anthropic for artificial-intelligence replies and summaries; Fish Audio for speech and private voice copies; and Mem0 for distilled conversation memory. These providers process only the information needed for their role and are required to protect it under their agreements and applicable law. Their systems may process information in the United States or other countries.

Why information is used

Information is processed to authenticate you, provide requested features, personalize replies, sync your account, verify purchases, prevent abuse, keep the service reliable, respond to support, and comply with law. Helios does not use personal information for third-party advertising, its own advertising, or cross-app tracking.

Retention and deletion

On-device information remains until you remove it, reset the relevant feature, or delete the app. Account records remain while your account is active. Distilled memories remain until you use “Forget what Helios has learned” or delete the account. Voice copies remain until you remove them or delete the account. You can permanently delete the Helios account and its associated profile, health records, memories, and voice copies in Settings. Limited security, transaction, backup, or legal records may remain only where required by law or for a provider’s documented operational retention period; Apple separately keeps App Store purchase records under its policies.

Your choices

You can decline or later change microphone, speech, location, calendar, notification, and Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings or the Health app. Helios provides reduced functionality when a permission is not granted. You can clear conversation memories, remove a private voice, manage the App Store subscription, sign out, or delete the account from Settings. Email grao@heliosmobile.app to ask about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available where you live.

Security

Helios uses encrypted HTTPS connections for production service traffic, keeps sign-in tokens in the iOS Keychain, limits account records by user, verifies App Store transactions, and restricts private voice records to their owner. No security system is perfect, so please do not share information you do not want processed as described here.

Children

Helios is not directed to children under 13. A person under the age of legal majority should use it only with permission from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission.

Not medical advice

Helios is a companion, not a doctor, medical device, or emergency service. Nothing it says is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist about health and medicines, and call local emergency services in an emergency.

Changes and questions

This policy may change as Helios changes. The updated date will change, and additional notice will be given when required. Write to grao@heliosmobile.app and a person will answer.
